El Capitan includes an important new security feature called System Integrity Protection, or 'SIP'. This feature prevents programs from modifying certain protected areas of your machine including the System directory, even if you have administrator privileges (or 'root') on your machine.
The Kodak Alaris driver needs to be able to access these protected areas of your Mac during the installation of both the ADF and Flatbed drivers and while running with the Flatbeds attached and turned on.

To get around this message, hold the control key down when clicking on the .pkg file to install. It will open a dialogue menu, select Open With → installer.app
Click on Open to continue the installation
