Nov 21, 2019 Hi everyone, a few days ago I recently acquired a mid 2014 Macbook Pro 15-inch retina. I was just taking a look at the activity monitor. I was just wondering what the process 'Bird' actually does. I want to get rid of any activities on my monitor that are not needed. Dec 16, 2016 However, 'system' process is using 33% cpu ALL the time. The behavior is like this: Laptop with nothing connected - no problem. Boot laptop with nothing connected, then connect the USB-C cable once in windows - Second monitor works, CPU usage is normal (1-2% on idle). Sep 11, 2016 Believe it or not, I find Activity Monitor, with the main window closed and the CPU usage in the Dock one of the lightest-weight / lowest overhead system monitors around. If you need more detail the main window is only a click away.
