Scroll direction on macOS is set for the system without taking into consideration whether a mouse or a trackpad is being used. 1. You can turn off trackpad scrolling in Accessibility preferences: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Accessibility. In the Mouse & Trackpad section, click Trackpad Options, then deselect the Scrolling checkbox.
